Lehnen Industrial Services started with one engineer, one customer, and a belief that custom manufacturing equipment could be both precise and elegant. Twenty-five years later, we’re a team of more than twenty, engineering the machines that life science and pharma manufacturers can’t buy off the shelf.
Peter Lehnen is the driving force behind the company. Born in Germany and raised mostly in Florida, Peter grew up in his father’s machine shop and dreamed of being an engineer by the age of three. He secured his first patent one year out of high school and never looked back.
Years later, Peter and his family moved to New Hampshire, and in 2001, he founded Lehnen Industrial Services. What started as a one-engineer, one-customer-at-a-time operation has grown into a team of more than twenty full-time employees under one roof in Keene, building custom machinery that ships around the world. We’ve delivered to manufacturers in China, India, Ireland, and Australia, with a compliance engineer on staff to navigate the international requirements that come with global delivery.
Lehnen Industrial is committed to being a reliable partner to our customers, delivering creative and elegant solutions for their manufacturing needs; supporting our community; and creating a caring and fulfilling work experience for our staff.
Responsibility
For the quality of our machines, for the commitments we make to customers, and for the documentation we deliver alongside every system. Responsibility means the work still stands twenty years from now.
Care
For our customers’ actual problems (not just the specifications on a scope of work), for our team members (past, present, and future), and for the communities we’re part of in New England and beyond.
Furthering the General Good
We believe custom manufacturing equipment can do genuine good in the world, especially in life sciences and medical devices where the machines we build support real therapeutic outcomes. That belief guides which projects we take on and how we approach them.
Lehnen Industrial wouldn't exist without the New Hampshire manufacturing community, so we put real time into giving back to it.
We host students from Keene State College and Cheshire Career Center in our shop and at the Lab. We mentor engineering interns who are deciding whether industrial automation is the right path for them. We host partner workshops and Lunch & Learns that bring industry knowledge to the region. And we’re members of the professional organizations that keep our industry moving forward.
From custom manufacturing equipment to cleanroom automation to our patented production platforms, every project begins with understanding your process and ends with machinery engineered to match it. See the full range of services Lehnen takes on.
